SIDEREUS - Cooperation through space

SIDEREUSThe project, lasting 18 months, aims at increasing economic cooperation between Europe and Asia, while encouraging growth and transnational agreement in the region and promoting mutually beneficial economic co-operation relationships between European and Asian SMEs in the aerospace sector, with a special focus on GALILEO - based satellite navigation applications.

To achieve the objectives of the project, the main activity planed is to organize a business matchmaking event between European and Southeast Asian companies operating in the aerospace and ICT sectors on satellite navigation applications with a special focus on GALILEO. The Event “SIDEREUS” aims to involve 160 Asian companies and 140 European companies in the final matchmaking event in November 2008 at Beijing.   More ...

WE-MENTOR - Motivating women entrepreneurs to participate in European projects

WE-MENTORWomen entrepreneurs are of high importance for economic and regional development. They are active in research and development; however their participation level in European research projects and trans-national co-operation is low. This is true for women-owned businesses also. Part of the problem is that women entrepreneurs are not reached by the mainstream information and support schemes for European Research and Technological Development (EU RTD).

WE-Mentor is building on a partnership of 10 EU member states organised in the consortium of the recently completed project “WomEn2FP6”. Four EU Member states (Belgium, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom) take the lead to mentor 4 “new - comers” to the topic of integrating women entrepreneurs into European Research (India, Israel, Romania and Turkey). INDIA-MENTOR - Catalyst for Euro-India ICT research

INDIA-MENTORIndia Mentor is a strategic project aimed at reinforcing Euro-India cooperation in Research and Development (R&D) in the ICT sector. India Mentor looks to effectively promote the participation of Indian organizations in the ICT programme through mentoring and training sessions.

India Mentor will also raise awareness of the ICT programme during its workshops in India. It will participate in important ICT events in India in order to broaden its reach.

India Mentor will strengthen the ICT support environment, the National contact point (NCP) network of India by providing them with valuable and practical training on the efficient and adequate working of the NCP network. More ...

INCITE - Catalyst for Euro-Indian IT research

INCITEProject INCITE (Indian Networks Co-operation in Information Society Technology with Europe) funded by the European Commission under the 6th Framework Programme (FP6), facilitated IT cooperation between India and Europe in the R&D sector. Its mission was to spread awareness on the access to the IST (Information Society Technology), now changed to Information Communication Technology (ICT) funding programme of the European Commission to the Indian IT community.

INCITE was instrumental in the setting up of the National Contact Point (NCP), a permanent platform linking the IT community to the activities of the IST programme.

The INCITE project started in June 2005 and ended in May 2007, was successful in achieving the following three objectives of the project: 

  • Helping Indian organizations access and benefit from the EU funding to research in the ICT sector
  • Promoting IT co-operation at research level between India and the European Union 
  • Setting up a permanent platform for co-operation between India and the European Union – The National Contact Point (NCP).

The Ministry of Information Technology (MIT), Government of India is the NCP – A permanent body supporting Euro-India Collaborative programme. The NCP operates in a Networked way through the “Indian Research Support Network” (IRSN) organizations. ITSMA is the leader of this NCP network.  The National Contact Point Network is the main structure to provide guidance, practical information and assistance on all aspects of participation in FP7.
The IRSN assists the NCP in all its activities. It enables a decentralized functioning of the National Contact Point. Based in Delhi, the Indian NCP operates on a decentralized basis through a network of reputed organisations, grouped in the Indian Research Support Network. More ...
