European Multimedia Forum
The European Multimedia Forum is the main European not-for-profit organisation promoting the competitiveness of the converging digital media industries in the global market place. Its objectives are to promote the new business models in the digital economy, encourage international business expansion, stimulate the introduction of new multimedia tools and services into the market place, contribute to the development of a business-friendly regulatory framework and facilitate contacts and exchanges between business and policy-makers.
In conjunction with the European Multimedia Associations' Convention (EMMAC) it groups a community of interest of more than 5000 members.
European Multimedia Associations Convention
The European Multimedia Associations Convention (EMMAC) is a co-ordination & co-operation platform for all European multimedia associations. Membership of the Convention is open to all national and regional multimedia associations based in Europe. Non-European associations may apply for associate membership. Decisions are taken by consensus. The Convention is coordinated by the European Multimedia Forum (EMF).
Distretto
Distretto is a non-for-profit consortium of companies who operate in the ICT and media sectors.
With the support of the Municipality and the Manufacturers Union of Rome, Distretto is made up of about 90 best-in-class firms operating in IT, ICT, TLC, Media, Television and Cinema Production.
It is the first consortium of this kind to be set up in Italy. It aims to indicate and represent within its own field, the industrial activities and services operating in that new economic field alternatively referred to as "the great convergence", "multimedia technology" or "new economy."
It is no coincidence that it originated in Rome. In spite of the city's traditional stereotyped image, the city scores an indisputable Italian and European record, in terms of people employed and locations of the most important firms in this new economic area. At the same time it constitutes an undoubtedly valuable public and private market.
Therefore, Rome can be considered by all rights as representative and leader at an International level in the information society. The District intends to be a laboratory for ideas and projects, a propeller for initiative and stimulation for policies along three guidelines:
- increase territorial and business competition
- establish financing
- be an instrument for sector policy
GAIA
GAIA is a non-profit professional and plural Association whose objective is to assist in technical, commercial and economic promotion of its associated companies and the totality of the Electronics, Computing and Telecommunications Sector in the Basque Autonomous Community. It also develops co-operation activities in international markets, market research and promotion for the creation of innovative products and services between its associated companies and provides the strategic infrastructure to promote the Information Society in the Basque Country.
GAIA is the institution which represents practically all the companies of the Electronics, Computing and Telecommunications Sector which are based in Basque Autonomous Community.
GAIA is the Association Cluster of Telecommunications of the Basque Country supported by the Basque Government for establishing and defining the sector basic strategic lines. The purpose of the cluster is to achieve optimization for the joint efforts of producing companies, users, administrations, research centres, universities and investors to reach a higher level of use of information technologies. GAIA aims to create an advanced and highly competitive industrial sector focused on information technologies.
GAIA brings to bear a close understanding of the systems and trends in telecommunications and their use, together with skills to manage projects and assure their quality in line with ISO 9000 standards. GAIA has expertise in the use of JAVA, Lotus domino and other software applications to manage projects.
GAIA has considerable experience of collaboration contract with organisations and public administrations throughout Europe, including local and regional councils, local and central government, and autonomous institutions.

TESEO
TESEO is a Brussels based consultancy specialized in EU funded Research and Technology Development (RTD) and assistance to SMEs on innovation and research related matters. TESEO is a team of 10 in-house full time consultants. The company also has its own network of external experts, consolidated over the years. In its 16 years of activity, TESEO has a diversified portfolio of clients including large corporations, public authorities, and several SME associations across Europe. Also, TESEO has nurtured relationships with international partners around the world, particularly in India.
The company offers a series of services ranging from technological audits to project idea screenings, financial viability analyses, and supports relations with potential investors, through guidance and advice.
TESEO provides also training modules on EU funding programmes and on R&D project management both to public and private organisations in several European and non European countries. TESEO has also taken part in projects focusing on the creation of transnational partnerships and transfer of knowledge in the framework of the EU research programmes.
TESEO’s decennial experience in EU-funded projects is the added value provided to its clients, in the process of guiding them through the different stages of a project successfully; from its conception, to the proposal, through negotiation and onto project management during implementation. FILAS
FILAS founded by the Lazio Region in 1975, is the financial development agency of Lazio Region entrusted with assisting SMEs in promoting new technologies and innovation at large. Filas manages tools related to innovation, new technologies and the net economy in order to strengthen the competitiveness of regional SMEs both in terms of regional product growth and external investment incentivation.
Filas pursues these objectives to promote the development of innovative enterprises and support the Regional government in monitoring the state and needs of enterprises.
FILAS main mission consists in:
- assisting the implementation of EC programmes, managing specific measures of the Structural Funds and programmes within the DG Regional Policy
- promoting spin-offs of research activities conducted by public or private organisations
- providing financial and management support to start-ups for activities connected with R&D and technological innovation
- promoting agreements and joint initiatives between SMEs in Lazio, and between public entities and credit institutions including those operating in other countries
University of Deusto
The University of Deusto (UD), together with another eight institutions, is a member of the Federation of Universities, Faculties and Higher Education Institutions (UNIJES ), set up or bound to the Company of Jesus by statutory provisions in the Spanish state.
During the last few years, the UD has presented Strategic Plans that, from a number of strategic options, set out activities aimed at a Vision defined as their future horizons.
